It's beginning to look like Christmas! Actually has been for weeks now....but I'm almost finished!

Starting with the Dining Room, I painted a dresser and
turned it into a buffet for the dining room.  It was so nice
having so much space to work with this year!  I'm
keeping the Dining Room and Foyer in a whimsical theme.
I had originally decorated this tree with gold, black, feathers,
pretty crosses, etc., but this look makes me smile, plus it's
fun for my younger 2 kids.

Top of the tree in the Dining Room

Bought this little musical animated Gingerbread house
from Lowes a few years ago, my kids so look forward
to me getting this down from the attic!

This is what I've done to the Hallway, going
for a more sophisticated look, using a lot of black
frames and sconces I use year-round.  The black iron
deer I found at a thrift shop for $2!
I found these Christmas cardboard cutouts
at The Dollar Tree.  I placed scrapbook paper and fabric
behind them and it has turned out one of my
favorite things.  So cheap, too!

This is in my Living Room, again trying to keep
with a more sophisticated theme.  I use LOTS of gold, red
and black but am introducing a little lime green here and there.

These tin trays I also found at Dollar Tree,
I spray painted them black, glued scrapbook paper
inside of them and hot glued an ornament.
Super inexpensive project!

Another tin tray sprayed gold and embellished.

I had this open back frame.  I usually have
a gold "D" in the middle.  For the Holidays
I added some super chic fabric in black and gold
behind it and hung this ornamental stocking
that I have had for years in the middle for
some instant framed art.

My QUEENdom Revealed!

My Daughter help me spruce up this black folding screen that I didn't
know what to do with.  It will be hung flat on the wall when my husband gets
around to doing it :)  Below is the finished result:
I did some faux painting and stenciling....I wanted every
square to look different, and of course added bling!
I decopauged scrap booking paper and added
nail head to trim to this square
 My bedside table
Hubby's bedside table...and yes, he is just thrilled!
Headboard I made with ALOT of help from by husband
it really weighs a ton!  I made a bedskirt with the extra fabric.  Bedding took 6
months to find.  Thanks Target!  What a bargain....
Below is a leather bench I reupolstered and
a mirror I painted white and distressed.  The dresser (also below)
and mirror set were a funky brown - UGLY!  I bought
it at Good Will for $28.30!

Baby Elle's Big Girl Nursery

So I've been toying with the notion of changing the color scheme of Elle's Nursery for a while now.  Started out with black furniture, pastel pink, white and black accessories.  Now that she's 2....I have been crushing on a more modern yellow and black color scheme.  However, after an endless search of just the right fabric, it was decided that the fabric I had imagined didn't exhist.....BOO!  But, found the next best thing, a soft yellow and gray chenille fabric which I overpaid for, but hey, I was tired of looking!  I painted the walls a very muted gray and made an ornate stencil on the wall out of wrapping paper.  Filled it in with yellow paint, made her bedding/curtains and then decided to add a splash (or explosion) of Aqua.  So just in case I'm confusing you....the colors are now Black, Aqua, Yellow, Gray and White.  I know....had to add the Aqua cause my 13 year old daughter no longer wanted the Aqua shag rug that she HAD to have last year and I felt like I needed to use it somewhere.  SO.....here is what's been done so far.  By the way, there is absolutely NO website for inspiration using these colors.....so maybe it will help SOMEBODY!  LOL!  By the way, I am doing this on a budget due to the fact that we tend to redecorate bedrooms in the house every couple of years.  I am sharing some of my repurposed finds with you!

The Bedding:  I used the black and white houndstooth fabric left from her old bedding.
An open back frame I had in a cherry finish, sprayed aqua and distressed just a little.  I covered a piece of foam core board with the reverse side of my fabric....it exposed more of the yellow.  Then hung these letters with pins.
The solid black curtains are ready made, I just added the houndstooth fabric to give them more height.
OK.....seriously.....I was so stoked when I ran into a local Good Will shop to look for frames and found these floral plastic pics.  I saw some similar to this at a high end decor store last week, they were made of polyresin, but who cares.  I paid $2.99 for the set!  They were $25 each at the decor boutique.  Below is what I did with them, and a little bit of magic from Aqua spray paint.

This sweet ceramic rosebud lamp I found the same day at Good Will for $6.99, it came with an ugly white lampshade, so I bought a self adhesive one from Hobby Lobby and covered it with a fabric remenant and added a headband bow that Elle has outgrown.

This design on her wall will eventually have something, like a large cursive "E", but for now
still thinking.......

I am almost finished!  I have a large houndstooth trunk coming that I will use as her toybox.  Also sewing a slipcover for an ottoman to go in the room.  More to come soon!

Pinkalicious Baby Shower!

A Diaper Cake I made with a lot of help from the Cricut....that thing is so nifty!!!

The Table:  I made a table runner out of leopard print wrapping paper, held up great for spills and looked very chic!

Made this sweet sign for the gift table
Thank you Cricut!  Banner turned out so great!
I filled small leopard print goody boxes with popcorn and printed "Tanai's about to pop" on them for favors.
The Guest of Honor, Tanai, and of course baby Tegan due in August!
